Katie Perrior

Katie met Jo during the 2001 General Election at the Conservative Party. She left to work as a freelancer for Celador, makers of ‘Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?’ and ITN, firstly for ITV News, then Head of Press for Channel 4 News. She returned to Politics as a Senior Media Advisor to the Shadow Home Secretary and then went to work on Live8 in London and in Scotland. Katie identified a gap in the market for a different type of PR agency and in 2006 persuaded Jo to join her to set up iNHouse.

Katie has an unrivalled contact book both across Westminster, local government and the media. Her expertise in reactive media relations has been honed over many years and these skills were instrumental in the Boris Johnson election victory in 2008.  In 2011, Katie has taken a lead role in setting up the National Asian Business Association. Katie is a Cabinet Member in the London Borough of Bexley and in her spare time mentors female entrepreneurs on business as well as hosting lectures in foreign countries on political campaigning.

Jo Tanner

Following a brief period developing a communications project for the NHS, Jo joined the Media Team at NSPCC and the Public Affairs department of the Learning and Skills Council. A natural campaigner, Jo then took up the post of Head of Media at the British Chambers of Commerce. After creating a new in-house operation and running eye-catching media campaigns on issues ranging from regulation to tax policy, Jo departed from the British Chamber of Commerce with an excellent network of contacts and relationships nationwide. Jo as co-founder iNHouse Communications also sits on the Council of the London Chamber of Commerce.

Taking a creative lead on the Boris Johnson Mayoral campaign, working closely with policy, operations, strategy and the candidate himself, Jo formed half of the ‘dynamic duo’ with Katie that was credited with helping Boris secure the 2008 London victory.

In more recent years, Jo has provided specialist support for clients in all aspects of communications but has been specifically focused on proactive media relations and advising on High Court actions.  Jo also regularly offers her time to the Media Trust, training communications professionals from charities across the UK.
