24-11-2006 iNHouse PR appointed for Children of Peace charity launch

iNHouse PR will support the launch of the new charity which aims to provide a new approach to conflict resolution in the Middle East.

The new UK-based multi-faith charity - which aims to build friendship, reconciliation and trust between Israeli and Palestinian children through shared arts, education, health and sports programmes - will be launched with a multi-faith event in Central London.

Madonna is the charity's Patron, supported by ten Trustees, including Janine di Giovanni and the noted Palestinian Nihaya Daoud, together with Goodwill Ambassadors who include Liel Kolet, Louise Ellman MP and Eleana Benador. Friends of the charity include Juliet Stevenson and Jeff Goldblum.

Children of Peace hopes to be regarded as a fresh approach to conflict resolution in a region that has existed as a war zone for much of the past sixty years. Generations of children in both communities have been traumatised, stressed or bereaved.

International singing star from Israel, Liel Kolet, will entertain guests at the launch, accompanied by two Arab instrumentalists. Liel has previously sung with President Bill Clinton, Bono and Elton John. She has been invited to sing at Nelson Mandela's birthday celebrations in November.

Children of Peace works closely with Israeli and Palestinian community-based organisations and non-governmental organisations. Each shared programme is designed to respect the traditions, values and customs of both communities. Meanwhile, activities which encourage healing, friendship, mutual respect and cooperation are actively encouraged.

iNHouse PR Director Jo Tanner said: "We are delighted to be working with Children of Peace at such an important time. Their work is a real inspiration and will touch the lives of many children who have often only ever lived through conflict."
